Alec is a pastor, author and lawyer dedicated to the cause of Christ. His passion is helping others find their identity in Christ, grow in their identity in Christ, and live out their identity in Christ. After a seven-year career in journalism, and a nearly 20-year career in “big law”, Alec entered into vocational ministry as the pastor of Outward Ministries at Burke Community Church, in Burke, Virginia. In this role, Alec oversees both local and global outreach, serves on the preaching team, and leads a robust teaching ministry dedicated to equipping pastors across the globe who lack access to formal, theological education. Alec and his wife Amy also are founders of 25:40, a ministry that serves orphaned and vulnerable children in rural South Africa.

Alec holds Doctor of Ministry degree from Dallas Theological Seminary; a Masters of Theology degree from DTS; a Juris Doctor degree from the American University; and a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the George Washington University.

Finally, and most importantly, Alec is the husband of a loving and awe-inspiring wife, the father of four remarkable children (Nick, Sophie, Hannah and Rebecca), a brother of three amazing siblings, and the son of two loving and inspirational parents. Second to God, to Whom he owes everything and in Whom he finds the beauty of all things, Alec’s family are the greatest source of joy, meaning and purpose to Him.
